Melvin Mora’s versatility was attractive to the Rockies, who signed Jason Giambi to back up first baseman Todd Helton last week. Mora is expected to serve primarily as a backup at third base for Ian Stewart.

(Trenton, NJ) On Monday, the Trenton Thunder announced that the 2009 New York Yankee World Series Trophy will be on display at Waterfront Park as Trenton hosts the Erie SeaWolves (Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers) on Opening Night, Thursday April 8th at 7:05 p.m.
